Ryan Zoghlin: The Urban Landscape
Saturday, August 2nd
10am-1pm
$55
Visiting artist Ryan Zoghlin will lead this workshop on his unique approach to photographing the urban landscape. Zoghlin's latest focus has been the eerie margin where suburban and industrial areas meet. In his new series N.I.M.B.Y. (Not In My Backyard) he shows us the juxtaposition of homes and gardens with cooling towers, electrical plants, and airports.
In this workshop, Zoghlin will discuss the conceptualization, development, and production of this long-term project and guide students towards the creation of their own themed photographic projects. A short photo field trip in Newspace's own suburban/industrial backyard will also be included. Students should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally.
