The Concrete Jungle: Street Shooting
Friday-Sunday, July 25th, 26th & 27th
3-7pm
$175

Throughout its history, street photography has succeeded in capturing many of the raw emotions, ironic situations, and decisive moments of society performing its daily rituals in public places. In this three-day weekend workshop, students will work to develop their own style and approach through several fun and challenging assignments and will examine some of the historical traditions of street photography.

Veteran photojournalist Geoffrey Hiller will teach you some useful tools for approaching subjects with confidence, maintaining an unassuming profile, and developing rapport. Students should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally.

Materials:
Three-five photographs to share with the group (if available)
Camera
Film or memory card and fresh batteries
Comfortable walking shoes
Bottle of water

Through photographs & web documentaries Geoffrey tells stories that illuminate the heart and soul of humanity - focusing on the many faces of emotion that connect us all. His work has earned three Macromedia "Site of the Day" honors, as well as awards from Apple, CNET, USA Today, and The Christian Science Monitor. Geoff has received grants from the California Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts and is a recent Fulbright Scholarship recipient. .
