(L2-4)
Six Wednesdays, February 3rd through March 10th
6:30-9:30pm
$225
This class is about moving away from a technical, "how-to" approach to image making, and toward a photographic practice based on your intuition and passion (the true secret to success as an artist). If you need some inspiration and guidance as you take the next step, this class is a great place to start.
Master photographer and educator Cherie Hiser will be your guide as you peruse your past work and create new images. Cherie's wealth of knowledge and lifetime of mentoring photographers will be instrumental in helping you tap into your creative side and come to a clearer understanding of your goals and creative process. Class will focus on finding your voice, identifying themes in your work, and creating images with compelling emotional content. Assignments will be tailored to spark your creativity, challenge your assumptions, and break creative boundaries. Come with an open mind and prepare to be challenged.
Cherie Hiser has been a photographic educator for over 30 years. She studied under Minor White, Ruth Bernhard, and Imogen Cunningham, and has been described as, "one of the most vital persons of our time" by Cornell Capa, Director of the International Center of Photography She is also a founding member of Portland's own Photolucida.
Students may work in film or digitally and in any format.
The class will be taught by Cherie Hiser.
