Religious iconography is rich with symbolism, drama, and history, making it a compelling and often powerful photographic subject. On this trip, you'll have a chance to explore two beautiful Portland churches with fine-art photographer Christine Eagon as your guide.

You'll learn how to embrace low-lighting situations to make images infused with mood and a sense of the sacred. You'll also learn tips and tricks for photographing architectural spaces and details. Students should bring cameras and tripods and may shoot with film or digitally.

Photographer Christine Eagon is a rich source of insight and guidance whose work has been described as having a "mythic, otherworldly quality." This is a great chance to study with a truly unique landscape photographer. Students should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally.

Christine Eagon is the Director of the Inner Light Photographic Society. Her work has been selected for numerous juried solo and group exhibitions, and is in the Ruth Bernhard Collection at the Kresge Art Museum. Her black and white portraits are featured in the book, traveling exhibition, and documentary film Strong Hearts, Inspired Minds. Ms. Eagon facilitates creative workshops for visual artists and photographers through Oregon College of Art and Craft and Oregon Book Arts Guild.
