In this intensive weekend workshop, you'll learn
the "ins" and "outs" of digital imaging - literally. Master digital printer Tyler Boley of Seattle's
Custom Digital will walk you through an in-depth demonstration of scanning and printing
techniques and discuss different tools and methods for making your prints and scans shine.
You'll gain a greater understanding of the core concepts of both color and black and white
digital printmaking as you work hands-on with your own images. You'll also learn how to
calibrate your monitor to best refine and control your results.
Over the course of the weekend,
you'll also have a chance to view and handle different papers to see the effects of different inks
and printing techniques, so you can better decide which materials and processes to use with
your own work. Students should bring five original negatives or prints to scan. Required prerequisite:
Basic Photoshop or instructor's consent
