A well-done environmental portrait
can bring a whole world alive for the
viewer. In this class, you'll learn how
to synthesize subject and environment
to create images charged with meaning
and personality. Talented portrait
photographer Ann Ploeger will show you
how a touch of documentary, a dash of
set design, and a handful of chutzpah can
go a long way in making truly unique
images of people and place.
Ann will also
show you how she uses simple studio
lighting to enhance available light and
add drama to images. After this class,
you'll be prepared to photograph anyone,
anywhere, with more confidence and
control. This class is a great chance to invigorate your vision, inspire yourself, and receive guidance
from a wonderful portrait artist.
Required prerequisite: Lighting Basics or instructor's consent. Students
should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally.
The class will be taught by Portland photographer Ann Ploeger.
