This one-day workshop provides a thorough introduction to basic studio gear and lighting. You'll learn how to control and manage lighting scenarios in the studio safely and competently while getting hands-on instruction in the use of strobe lights, light modifiers, and backgrounds. We will also discuss portraiture in the studio and some of the tricks of the photographer's trade.
This is a fantastic starter course and is one of the recommended prerequisites for our intermediate lighting courses. Students should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally. Students registering for this workshop should already have a good working knowledge of basic photographic exposure and camera controls.
The class will be taught by Portland photographer Joshua Dommermuth.
