This workshop is a special weekend photography
adventure with fine-art photographer Don
Jacobson. Friday night, you'll meet for an overview
of tools and techniques for shooting in the field.
Saturday, Don will guide the class through the beautiful natural landscapes of the Mt. Hood
Meadows area. You'll learn to develop an eye for unique, intimate landscapes and to finetune
your eye for color and light. Sunday, the group will review images created the previous
day. Feedback from Don will help you edit your work and create stronger images.
Don's many years of experience as a naturalist has given him a unique perspective on the natural
places he photographs. He has led trips for the Native Plant Society of Oregon and Portland
Audubon, and his images regularly grace the publications of local environmental nonprofits.
Students should be prepared for moderate hiking. Students should bring cameras and may shoot with film
or digitally. Film users are encouraged to shoot color negative or C41 black and white film in order to
have processing completed by the Sunday review session.
