This class is an investigation of the human form, with emphasis on the use of natural light. Master figure photographer Jason Langer will be your guide as you learn to work with models to create unique images. Class will include an overview of tools, techniques, and styles, and a hands-on Saturday shooting session with male and female models in a beautiful natural light studio.

Jason will also discuss the history of the nude in photography and the figure's ability to act as a window into human psychology. You'll also learn how intimate, environmental portraiture techniques can help you create images that feel natural and unposed. The last class will be a review and critique of student work.

Students should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally.

Note: portfolio is required for admission. Please email five portraits/figure studies (72dpi, six inches in largest dimension) to info@newspacephoto.org. Newspace staff will contact you to register you for the class if your portfolio is accepted.

This class will be taught by Jason Langer.
