On Assignment: Dunes & Coastal Landscapes
(L2-4)
Weekend of May 21st through 23rd
Review of work - Wednesday, June 2nd 6:30-9:30pm
$325
This trip is an exploration of the iconic beauty and grace of sand dunes and coastal rock formations. The company of two top-notch landscape photographers will make this trip a rare treat. The trip's first stop will be Eel Creek, where you'll see miles of rolling dunes formed into endless windblown shapes, the vast Pacific Ocean, expansive skies, and dramatic snag forests pointing up out of the sand like ship's masts.
You'll see how shooting in the early morning and evening light beautifully accentuates the patterns in the dunes.
Bob and Dale will help you capture fantastic shots while discussing helpful technical tips for landscape photography. On the second day, the group will head to Shore Acres to photograph the area's surreal, lunar landscapes and rock formations. This is a great chance to train your eye and hone your technical skills under the guidance of two masters in the field.
The second session will be a review and critique of work created on the trip.
Students should be prepared for moderate hiking.
Students may shoot with film or digitally.
This trip will be led by Dale Strouse & Bob Farr
