Documentary photographs are a window to the world. They tell us stories about distant people and places, or make us aware of important issues closer to home. The very best documentary work does this while never losing sight of the art and craft of fine image-making.

In this class, you'll learn to tell stories with your photographs as you develop a personal documentary technique. You'll learn how to choose compelling subjects, how to make connections and gain access, and how to edit your work successfully. You'll also learn how the photojournalism business works, including how to market your images and how to find new outlets for documentary work now that the newspaper industry is losing its foothold.

Class will include a group field trip to hone your real world shooting skills. Students should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally.

This class will be taught by photographer Brian Lee. Visit his Website
