In this hands-on workshop, you'll have a chance to experiment with professional lighting styles and techniques used by top-notch art and commercial photographers. An overview of styles used by Richard Avedon, Gregory Crewdson, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, and Irving Penn will get you designing with light to set mood and add drama as you experiment with innovative fashion, commercial, and fine-art styles.
You'll learn to set up lighting scenarios both in the studio and on-location and to artistically shape the tone of your images with light.
Required prerequisite: Lighting Basics or instructor's consent. Students should bring cameras and may shoot with film or digitally.
