A whole new world of possibility opens up when
shooting with larger film formats. The incredible
detail, tonal range, and sharpness of larger negatives is unparalleled. In this class, you'll learn to use
4x5" cameras with guidance and instruction from a pro. You'll learn all about loading film, working
with focal plane tilts and swings, and using a light meter to determine and fine-tune exposure.
Class will include hands-on shooting, followed by a darkroom tutorial where you'll learn to process and
print large format film. A basic knowledge of black and white darkroom technique is required for
this class.
Cameras are available for rent - see below. Students need one 25 sheet box of Ilford FP4 125 speed film.
Instructor: Bob Farr is a Portland photographer who specializes in large format black and white landscape photography.
